(Monsey, NY – December 29, 2019) — StandWithUs sends love, prayers, and strength to the victims of Saturday night’s horrific attempted murder of Jews celebrating Chanukah. We congratulate the NYPD for capturing the perpetrator of this barbaric stabbing attack. The latest in a string of hate crimes against Jews, this assault is yet another urgent reminder of the need to confront antisemitism at all levels and in all corners of society. Unfortunately, this rise in antisemitism also makes clear that Jews in the US and beyond must invest in serious security, learn self-defense, and work with local allies and law enforcement to ensure their safety. We stand with Jewish communities in Monsey, NY and around the world, and know that together we will be resilient in the face of this hatred and violence.
