StandWithUs Center For Legal Justice Announces Settlement of Antisemitism Lawsuit Against Columbia University
The StandWithUs Center for Legal Justice (SCLJ) announced that a settlement has been reached in the federal lawsuit Students Against Antisemitism, Inc. et al. v. The Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York et al. SCLJ served as one of the plaintiffs in the case, in which Kasowitz LLP represented CU students who raised concerns about antisemitism on campus. As part of the confidential settlement, Columbia has committed to additional antisemitism programming and scholarships for students who have worked, studied or lived in Israel. Oleg Ivanov, Executive Director of SCLJ stated. “This settlement represents an important step toward ensuring that Jewish and Israeli students at Columbia can learn in an environment free from discrimination and hostility. We thank our attorneys and students for their dedication, and we are hopeful that the commitments made in this agreement will lead to meaningful and systemic change for Jewish students on campus.”
