The decision to suspend arms export licenses to Israel by the UK government marks a profoundly misguided turning point in history. Eighty-four years ago, Churchill urgently appealed for U.S. arms to fight the Nazi Axis, insisting that Britain should not be left to fight on its own.
Today, as Israel stands against the Iranian Axis, a threat not only to Israel but to Western civilization, the UK Foreign Minister has chosen to suspend arms to Israel, leaving it without the critical support it needs.
This unfortunate decision undermines the UK's core values and its glorious history of fighting against evil, far more than it impedes Israel’s ability to defend itself. Israel will stand, Israel will win.
We urge David Lammy to revoke this misguided decision - which denigrates Britain’s global reputation - and to stand with Israel in its fight against those forces that seek to dismantle the very ideals and freedoms the two nations cherish.
