At a public antisemitic demonstration in Austin, Texas on October 23, 2021, a group of neo-Nazis associating themselves with GoyimTV, and who apparently believe the Covid vaccine is harmful, displayed a banner over a bridge on MoPac reading “Vax the Jews.” It is time we recognize incidents like this, that call for physical attacks against Jews or any other group, as a wake up call to all people of conscience to (1) be aware of what other groups are facing and (2) stand together against such virulent expressions of outright hatred. We thank the Austin police for their statements condemning the bigoted message of these individuals. We understand their obligation to protect the constitutional right to freedom of speech, even speech that is hateful and offensive; at the same time we recognize this as an opportunity for others to use their voices to speak an even stronger message of unity by expressing their support for their Jewish neighbors.
