(Heath, Texas — August 18, 2025) — In the early hours of August 16, a Dallas suburb became the latest target of antisemitic hate in the State of Texas. Two Nazi flags were found suspended from the side of the Rockwall-Heath High School. The flags have since been removed by the Heath Police Department, which is currently investigating the incident as motivated by antisemitism. StandWithUs condemns the horrific display of antisemitism, especially at a time when antisemitism is rising locally and worldwide.
Jews comprise roughly 2 percent of the U.S. population yet are the targets of over 60% of all religiously motivated hate-crimes in the United States, according to the FBI. While antisemitism remained a persistent problem before October 7, 2023, Hamas’s attacks unleashed an unprecedented wave of antisemitism that has seen incidents skyrocket both nationwide and worldwide.
StandWithUs’s Director of Policy Education and Dallas native, Jordan Cope, notes: “From Colleyville to Heath, the Dallas-Fort Worth area has now been the target of some of the nation’s most recent high-profile antisemitic incidents. While we are grateful for the mayor’s swift condemnation and the Heath Police Department’s urgent attention to this matter, this incident is a reminder that antisemitism is alive and well, infiltrating every aspect of our school communities, from schools to medical associations. We look forward to continuing the conversation with city officials.”
Director of the StandWithUs Central Region and Dallas local, Josh Arbital, states: “We thank the alert and courageous students who reported the detestable Nazi flags, immediately triggering their removal and the subsequent investigation. Texas, while largely friendly towards its Jewish and Israeli neighbors, is no stranger to antisemitism. Texas communities are stronger than hate and show up for their friends and neighbors.
We at StandWithUs are here to support you, in partnership with local police, the FBI, and other local officials. If we can help you, write to me at joshuaa@ standwithus. com and make sure to fill out an incident report at StandWithUs.”
