Jews are human beings, not tools to be used and abused for political gain.
No disagreement with Israel justifies sharing hateful imagery, created by an “artist” with a long history of vicious antisemitism.
No disagreement between Democrats and Republicans justifies accusing American Jews (or anyone for that matter) of “disloyalty” because of the party they belong to or vote for.
With antisemitism rising across the political spectrum, this rhetoric is dangerous regardless of the motivations behind it. Words have meaning and consequences.
Now more than ever, it is important to be mindful of what we say. Leaders and citizens should be working together, educating each other, and building mutual respect, instead of fueling hatred or reinforcing the divisions between us.
